One of the best things about the Economist is that it's one of the few newspapers left which doesn't limit the form or content of it's articles to a 9th grade level. As mentioned, there are plenty of news outlets which specialise in refining current affairs down to easily understandable sound-bites, but precious few which attempt to give a comprehensive overview of complex issues which may require the use of adult vocabulary or understanding of certain underlying ideas (the Economist has always been very good at noting these issues should the reader need to look them up). Please don't dumb down the Economist! “[The Economist’s content] is over the head of younger readers”

And, I think getting kids educated about real world economical problems and solutions is a great idea (don't leave it to the public schools to do so). However, I'm not sure Moodle is the best way to go. Moodle is hard to use, by anyone's standard. I'd recommend Scholar360 LMS (www.scholar360.com). If anyone cares, Scholar360 is easy to use, inexpensive, and has social networking features that Moodle can't touch with a ten foot pole! If MySpace.com is any indication that social networking is an exploding commodity, then Scholar360 is a better choice. That's just my opinion... Cathy I’m an avid reader of The Economist. But this is the parents' and teachers' duty. Therefore, it is better to publish a guideline advising these two groups on how to encourage their children to become its readers. This guideline should be published weekly and available online. If this is done the number of visitor to the Economist website will increase tremendously and in no time. To make it livelier and constantly up-to-date, why not publish the guideline as a blog like this one I'm writing on. In this way the Economist will save itself from having to do the work. All the work can be handed over to interested parents and educators. Their number can be very large, so it's good idea to start this blog as a website. And its domain name? There is none other than economistlearn.com, with link to and from economist.com. May I add further to my earlier posting.
